Flash Fiction

Flash fiction insists that ideas are honed to their essence, while still offering structure, theme, setting, character, and dialogue. The power of these popular stories lies in their brevity (1,000 words or less), often cracking open one small moment and revealing a surprise twist. Short readings and in-class exercises will illustrate craft, at least one story will be completed for publication, and the last class will culminate in an optional reading for friends and family.
