Power of Words Saturday:
A Collaboration with Laura Oliver

Re(right!) Your Story, Change Your Life
Laura Oliver

We all have a story about who we are that is as powerful an influence on our feelings and actions as a software program installed without our knowledge. It is a subconscious narrative imbibed when we were young, written by someone else, and re-enforced over the years by expectation and repetition. (Are you really the "loud" one? The "reliable" one? The "procrastinator?")

In this workshop, we take control. We discover methods for relinquishing limitations and old habits. We learn to retrain our thoughts to create new neural pathways so we can feel as if we are becoming who we were always meant to be. As we learn to proactively use the connection between words and experience, we can revise our life story. Come write a happy ending. It's not magic. It's mind.

Play On Words Lynn Auld Schwartz

Creative journaling combines image and word. It's an opportunity for individual reflection—where self-knowledge and creativity can develop and thrive. Participants will learn how the visual journal can clarify intention, priorities, dreams, and boost creative confidence and experimentation. We will explore the magic of playing with words, color, collage, doodles, and review a variety of journal styles.

We invite you to visually express what you've discovered in Re(right!), exploring your new story by melding word and image into a new and powerful direction. It doesn't matter if you don't draw or write. There are no rules. There are no mistakes. Your journal becomes whatever you need it to be. This is a fun and rewarding practice designed to invite inspiration, combat procrastination, and to focus both personal and creative goals. Join us and give it a try.
